Applying For Your Licence...
DVLA deal with all licence applications, contact them on 0870
240 0009 and ask them to send you application form D1 and photo application
form D750. Alternatively you can pick these up from your local Post Office.
Tip if you're 16 and applying for your provisional licence
make sure that when completing form D1 you tick the box 'Do you want motorcycle
entitlement?'. Although you won't be
able to ride anything bigger than a 50cc, that is restricted to no more than
31mph (50kmh) until you reach 17, it will take you the hassle of sending your
licence back to DVLA on or after your 17th birthday.
Once you have received your new licence you will need to validate
it by successfully completing a CBT course before you will be able to
ride on public roads.
